Insurance Referral Resources
Since your PCP has a broad perspective on your health, he or she will share information about related conditions, tests, or health risks with the specialist. He or she will also monitor your care if you become hospitalized.
If you are in a managed care plan, you will need a written insurance referral from your PCP for any services that he or she does not provide. It is your responsibility to obtain insurance referrals for any non-Dartmouth-Hitchcock services you need.
