Breast Cancer Performance Results

Doctors' thoroughness

Following their appointment with a doctor or associate provider, breast cancer patients are asked to rate "the thoroughness of the care you received from your provider."

DHMC mails questionnaires to a randomly selected sample of patients. Patients choose a rating of Excellent, Very Good, Good, Fair, or Poor. The ratings are converted to a score (Excellent = 100, Very Good = 75, Good = 50, Fair = 25, Poor = 0). The scores for all the breast cancer patients are averaged together.

The score was 91 in 2009.

More than 70 DHMC breast cancer patients completed the survey between January and December 2009. Because the survey was developed at DHMC, there is no comparison to other institutions.
