Great Issues in Medicine and Global Health Symposium
The overall goal of the Symposium is to engage our general, academic and professional communities in discussions concerning the economic, social, physical health, safety and well being of women and girls around the globe. At the end of this Symposium, participants will be able to:
- Discuss the interconnected factors that heighten girls' and women's vulnerability to disease in marginalized communities throughout the world;
- Explain the interface among practice, research, service, and health policy with respect to global women' and girls' health;
- Identify local, regional and global investments in women's and girls' health, safety, education, economic status, recreation and/or sport; and,
- Develop strategies for helping girls fulfill their dreams for social, educational, economic, recreational and athletic opportunities.
